Total Recall is the 2012 remake of the 1990 Arnold Schwarzenegger film with the same title. The remake stars Colin Farrell playing as Douglas "Doug" Quaid, the role of Schwarzenegger who is the primary protagonist of the film that is simple worker suffering from strange violent dreams. With Farrel are Jessica Biel as Melina, Kate Beckinsale as Lori Quaid (Quaid's "wife"), Bill Nighy as Matthias Lair, Bryan Cranston as Chancellor Vilos Cohaagen, John Cho as Bob McClane, Bokeem Woodbine as Harry (Quaid's best friend), Steve Byers as Henry Reed, Ethan Hawke and Kaitlyn Leeb as the Three-Breasted Woman.
TOTAL RECALL 2012 follows the life of Doug Quaid who suffers from strange violent dreams and decided to visit Rekall (a corporation that provides its clients with implanted artificial memories of the lives they would like to have) to change his boring dissatisfied factory worker life into a much exciting one. Only to discover that there's more to his existence and discover tons of fact about his true identity. He is living in a world of lie and fake wife.
The 2012 movie and 1990 version of Total Recall are loosely based on the short story by Philip K. Dick entitled "We Can Remember It for You Wholesale."
The film was directed by Len Wiseman (Stargate, Independence Day, Godzilla) and distributed by Columbia Pictures.
