Shrek is back and now he misses his life as an ogre. In this 4th franchise of the animated film shows how Shrek got a deal with the trickster Rumpelstiltskin and back to the time when ogre’s are not kind and Rumpelstiltskin is the king. Here’s the plot of the newest Shrek movie known as Shrek: The Final Chapter in 3D:
After all of his adventures, Shrek (Mike Myers) has become a domesticated family ogre. Instead of scaring villagers away as he used to, Shrek agrees to autograph pitchforks. Longing for the days when he felt like a “real ogre”, Shrek is tricked into signing a pact with the smooth-talking deal maker, Rumpelstiltskin (Walt Dohrn). Shrek couldn’t resist the offer; all he wanted was a day off to relax, to be a real ogre again, and Rumpelstiltskin said he would give Shrek one day where none of his adventures had ever happened and everything would be like it was before – all Shrek had to trade him to get a day off was one day from his own life. Then Rumpelstiltskin tricked Shrek and the day he took out of Shrek’s life was the day that he was born—meaning that (since Shrek was never born) he never existed, thus creating a time paradox. Shrek finds himself in a alternate version of Far Far Away: Rumpelstiltskin is king; ogres are hunted to near-extinction; Donkey is an intellectual who has never met Shrek, is forced into cart-pulling duty and fears him; Gingy is a gladiator fighting animal crackers; Puss in Boots is fat and lazy; Fiona is a hunting ogre who never met (and can’t stand) Shrek, and is the leader of a band of other hunted ogres. Artie (Justin Timberlake) has been forced to step down as ruler of Far Far Away. But if Shrek shares “True Love’s Kiss” with Fiona by the sunrise of the next day, the true timeline will be restored—and Artie will be restored as to his rightful position as the only true heir to Far Far Away, but if Shrek does not make it, then by the time the day is up, Shrek will disappear (due to him never being born), and Rumpelstiltskin has sent out an army of witches to stop him.
The film is set to be on theaters on May 21 in US and July 9 in UK.
