This year’s MTV Movie Awards is going to be exciting because it will serve as a showdown between a bevy of bridesmaids and a cast of killer kids. So who will it be? Who will be declared as MTV’s top Movie of the year?
Bridesmaids and The Hunger Games are among the top nominees at MTV’s annual film honors. These two blockbuster hit films are among the acclaimed best movies of the year and they deserved to be nominated for the award. Both films had eight nods apiece, including bids for best cast, breakthrough performance and movie of the year. Elsewhere, among the nominees that these two films are sharing with for the best-picture award are “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2,” “The Help” and “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1”.
Two of these films are already expected to be nominated because of their contribution to the film industry for being one of the blockbuster hit film series. The Hunger Games was just released recently and it was surprising that it was already included as a nominated film. However, MTV announced the nominees on Monday and it included the movie. There are 12 categories for the MTV Awards and it includes six new ones such as the “best on-screen dirtbag” and “best gut-wrenching performance.”
Another new thing about this year’s MTV Awards is the selection of the nominees which involves a panel of actors, producers, agents, and industry tastemakers instead of via online vote from the public. However, the fans can still choose the winners. Voting will begin online on Tuesday at 8am Eastern Time. As for the 21st MTV Movie Awards Night, it will be presented on June 3 at the Gibson Amphitheatre in Universal City and it will be broadcasted live on MTV.
